The internal battery power is great, they last forever and all the accessories are very handy. They have a boost mode which will make it 2.8 times brighter than the x1 and they are still controllable from the app.

The other really nice thing about the new Helios Tubes is the case. It has been redesigned and comes with a breakout box for your wired DMX so you just put the one cable in tentacles out to the many tubes. So if you’re in a situation where the tubes are going to be there for a while or you just want to run wired for whatever reason you can now do that and it also powers them.

Some cool mounting features are very effective. You can hang it with a clamp and hang it to a truss or a c-stand. The clamp can actually move anywhere on the light too so you can do some really cool designs.

The Astera also has many different uses, not only as a backdrop. For example, you can use it as a key light as it’s a super variable light so you can control a whole bunch of aspects of it.

These lights are now more color accurate with a wide range of effects, that’s almost the most important thing. These are 96 CRI so you are getting an overall better product.
